This depends on the product that you have ordered. The following is a guide only: All shower screens (except fully frameless), mirrors and wardrobe doors = 1-3 hours depending on quantity; Fully frameless shower screens = 1-3 hours, and up to 3 separate trips for panels, braces and the door; Glass splashbacks = 1-3 hours. A second trip may be required to finish silicone; Wardrobe shelving = 1-8 hours, depending on the size of the job.
This depends on many factors including, but not limited to, hob design, falls on tiles, waste size, and shower rose positioning to name a few. A shower screen should be viewed more as a splash proof product, rather than a waterproof product. The type of shower screen will also dictate how much water penetration is possible. This is very much a case of fashion over function. The less fashionable fully framed screens are best at retaining water.
Chemical reactions from a range of sources are what cause your shower screen to deteriorate, and form the soap scum look. These include fatty acids from you skin, salts from your sweat, and other bi products from cosmetics, soaps and shampoos. Combine these with minerals from the water, such as calcium, and you have a problem.
The most effective way to avoid this is to squeegee immediately after every shower. This stops the water drying on the glass. Use a microfiber cloth when done. Do not use scrapers, blades, acid or alkaline cleaners, or commercial cleaners that contain ammonia or vinegar. Powders, liquids, bleach and bleach based products should also be avoided.
You must wait at least 48-72 hrs before using. This allows the silicone to dry sufficiently, thus avoiding leaks.
